Something not working?
Turn is reservation software for restaurants and bars. You book a table with your phone number — no account, no card, no app. Most questions are below. If yours isn't, email hello@turnreservations.click and a person answers.
■ If you have a booking
The waiting screen has a “Didn’t get the text?” link — correct the number and send it again. Check the number had no typo, and that your phone has signal and credit. Your table is held for 15 minutes while you confirm; after that it goes back on sale, and you can simply book again.
Open the link in your text message. Everything is on that one page: move the time, change how many people, add a note for the kitchen, or cancel. You don't need a password — the link is private to you, so don't post it publicly.
On the restaurant's booking page, tap Lost your booking? and put in the number you booked with. We'll text the same link again. It goes to your phone, never to the screen — so nobody who happens to know your number can read your booking off a page.
Cancel from your link, even if it's last minute. A cancelled table can be resold; an empty one at 8pm can't. Cancelling counts far less against you than simply not turning up.
Whatever you put in the booking goes to the kitchen with it. You can change it any time from your link, right up to the table. If it's serious, tell a member of staff on arrival too — a note is not a substitute for a conversation about anaphylaxis.
Where offered, the booking sits on your lock screen with a code the restaurant can scan on arrival. Skipping it changes nothing — the link in your text is always enough.
■ Texts, and stopping them
Every message is about a booking you made. We never text marketing. If you reply to one, it goes to that restaurant, and they reply from the same thread.
Reply STOP to any message. That takes effect immediately and for good, across every restaurant on Turn.
Stopping messages does not cancel your booking, and it costs you nothing — no score, no penalty. It only means we can't text you about it, so use your link (or the restaurant's phone) from then on. Booking again turns messages back on.
The full detail is on the Messaging policy page.
■ What Turn knows about you
Your mobile number, the name you asked the restaurant to call you, and the bookings you've made — including anything you wrote in them. That's it. No card, no email, no address.
A restaurant sees the bookings you made with them, and how reliable a guest you've been. Restaurants can be rated by guests, and those ratings show publicly as stars on their booking page. Ratings and reliability both stop counting after six months — an old bad night follows nobody around forever.
Want your number and history deleted? Email hello@turnreservations.click from a phone you can be reached on, and we'll remove it.
■ If you run a restaurant
Sign up, set your tables and your service times, and share your booking link — or paste the embed snippet from Settings straight into your own site.
Per booking made. No monthly fee, no minimum, no setup cost, no contract, nothing for the quiet months. The Billing page shows the meter live, including anything we'd charge you for, before we charge it.
Settings has a link your staff can open on the pass without a login. It shows tonight's service and lets them seat and finish tables. It cannot reach your billing or your settings.
Reset it here. That signs out every device that was logged in, which is also how you remove someone who's left.
■ Quick answers
No. You book with your mobile number — there is no account, no password and no app to download. The link in your text message is all you need to change or cancel.
No. Turn never asks a guest for card details and takes no deposits. Instead of holding your card, restaurants rely on a reliability score built from whether people turn up.
Open the link in your text message. Everything is on that one page: move the time, change how many people, add a note for the kitchen, or cancel.
It costs your reliability score more than anything else, and can quietly reduce which tables you are offered later. Cancelling — even at the last minute — costs you far less, so cancel if you cannot make it.
Reply STOP to any message. It takes effect immediately and for good, across every restaurant on Turn. It does not cancel your booking and it costs you nothing.
Yes. Where offered, a Turn booking saves straight into your phone's wallet in one tap, and sits on your lock screen with the date, the time, the party size and a code the restaurant can scan when you arrive. It is built into Turn rather than being a separate add-on, and it costs the restaurant nothing extra.
Yes. If the time moves, the pass on your phone moves with it by itself and your phone notifies you. If the booking is cancelled, the pass says so. The back of the pass links back to your booking, so you can change or cancel from there without hunting for the original text message.
Yes. Join with your mobile number from the restaurant's link or the code in their window — no account and no app — and you get a page of your own showing where you stand and what the wait is now. You get a text when your table is ready.
From the tables that actually fit your party and when each of them is expected to free, and it is worked out again every time you open your page — so an hour later you are not still looking at the number you were quoted when you joined.
Yes. A walk-in-only room can run on the waiting list alone: guests join from a link or at the door, the host seats them from the list, and nobody ever books a table in advance.
Per booking made, and per place on the waiting list, at the same rate. There is no monthly fee, no minimum, no setup cost and no contract, so a quiet month costs nothing.
■ Still stuck
hello@turnreservations.click — tell us the restaurant, roughly when you booked, and the number you used. If it's tonight, start a booking again at the same venue with the same number — yours comes straight back, and you can change or cancel it from there.
